Terms of Service

Last updated: 6 September 2026

TODO — have a solicitor review before launch.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

MoveToOZ ("we", "us") runs the website at movetooz.com, which helps people moving from the UK to Australia plan the move. By using the site or buying the MoveToOZ Pass you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

These terms are written for consumers in the UK. Nothing here removes rights you have under UK consumer law.

2. What the free tier includes

You can use most of MoveToOZ without paying. The free tier includes browsing visa information and city guides, reading the blog, searching jobs and accommodation ideas, browsing the community forum, and creating a free account. No card details are needed.

Free features may change or be withdrawn as the site develops.

3. What the MoveToOZ Pass includes

The Pass unlocks posting and replying in the community, unlimited saved jobs and listings, job alerts by industry, city and salary, the personalised relocation guide email, priority access to new content, and the Pass holder badge on your profile.

We may add, change or remove individual Pass features over time. If we make a significant reduction to what the Pass offers, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your current month.

4. Price, billing and payment

The Pass costs £8.99 per month, billed in pounds sterling (GBP). Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe — we never see or store your full card details. Your subscription renews automatically each month on the same date until you cancel.

If we change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel before the new price applies. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend Pass access until payment succeeds.

5. Your 14-day right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you subscribe to change your mind and cancel for a full refund.

To use this right, tell us clearly within those 14 days — email us or use the contact form, saying that you're cancelling and giving the email address on your account. We'll refund you to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving your notice.

Because the Pass gives you immediate access to digital content and services, if you ask us to start straight away and then cancel within the 14 days, we may charge a proportionate amount for the days you had access. Where you downloaded premium digital content during that period, your right to cancel that specific content may be lost once the download has begun, as the regulations allow.

6. Cancelling a subscription and what happens to access

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard, or by contacting us. Cancelling stops the next payment; it doesn't end your access immediately.

You keep Pass features until the end of the month you've already paid for. After that, your account stays open on the free tier — your saved items and community posts remain, but Pass-only features stop working until you subscribe again.

7. Refunds

Outside the 14-day cancellation window, monthly payments are generally non-refundable, because you've had access to the Pass for that month. We'll always refund you where something has gone wrong on our side — for example a duplicate charge, a payment taken after you cancelled, or a prolonged outage of Pass features.

To request a refund, contact us with your account email and the date of the payment. We aim to respond within 2 working days.

8. Information only — not immigration, legal or financial advice

MoveToOZ provides general information to help you plan. It is not immigration advice, legal advice, financial advice or tax advice, and it isn't tailored to your circumstances. We are not migration agents and we don't give personal immigration advice.

Always check anything binding against the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and speak to a registered MARA agent or a qualified professional before making decisions that affect your visa, your money or your family.

9. Not affiliated with the Australian Government

MoveToOZ is an independent private website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Australian Government, the Department of Home Affairs, or any other government body. Official visa applications should always be made through official government channels.

Where we link to third-party sites such as job boards, rental sites or booking sites, those are external search options, not partners or endorsements. We're not responsible for their content, pricing or service.

10. Your account and acceptable use

Keep your login details secure and don't share your account. Don't post anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or spammy in the community, and don't scrape, copy or resell our content. We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules; if we close a paid account for a serious breach, we may not refund the current month.

11. Limitation of liability

We do our best to keep information accurate and the site available, but we can't promise it will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from decisions you make based on general information on the site — for example visa refusals, travel costs, lost earnings or missed opportunities.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. If a change materially affects you as a paying member, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel if you don't accept it.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. How to reach us

Use the contact page for anything to do with your account, billing or these terms. We reply within 2 working days. See also our privacy policy.
